Monday Night Mountain Bike Rides – These are great 1.5-2 hour mountain bike rides on the extensive Helena area trail system.  The group departs from the Park Ave. Building, 301 S. Park Ave. at 6:30 p.m. beginning on May 5th.

Tuesday Night Road Bike Rides –  New East Side rides for 2008. Starting at the Reber Park  on Colonial Drive. Beginning May 6th.

Thursday Nights
May-September

Thursday Night Road Bike Rides – Join other club members on these 1.5-2 hour rides.  For 2008, the club will offer two levels of road rides - "Brisk Riders" and "Touring Speed".  The groups will depart from Four Georgians School at 6 p.m. beginning on May 1st.  The start time will switch to 6:30 p.m. in June.

Friday Night Mountain Bike Rides – Hardy beginners to advanced mountain bikers leave Great Divide Cyclery at 5:30 p.m. for a tour of the trails network.  Evening usually ends with refreshments at the Windbag Saloon & Grill.

Mountain Biking Betties – Not an HBC-organized weekly ride, but definitely worth mentioning. Join other women mountain bikers on these 1.5-2 hour rides.  This ride is a mix of beginner and more experienced riders. The group leaves from the Library at 6 p.m.

Wednesday Night Mountain Bike Rides – As a new event in 2008, Big Sky Cyclery has organized rides to leave the bike shop at 6:30 p.m.

Big Sky Cyclery Mountain Bike Rides — Each ride is between 12 and 20 miles long. Riders meet at Big Sky Cyclery to carpool to the trailhead. Bring lunch. Rides usually wrap up by mid-afternoon.

York Burger Boogie – Rick Bush will lead this revival of an old HBC classic ride.  The ride will depart from the Dive Bakery on 11th, go to the York Bar for burgers, and return.  Distance is approximately 40 miles.

Membership Picnic – A club picnic to kick off the season. Club provides the main dish and members bring a salad or dish to share. Location – Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds.

May 31 & June 1

Pintler Loop - A two day leisurely road ride. Total miles approx 130.  We will start in Deer Lodge and travel along the frontage road to Anaconda. Then the ride heads west through the Georgetown Lake area and into Philipsburg.  Sunday we travel to Drummond then back to Deer Lodge. A shuttle for luggage will be provided.  Meals, snacks and dinner in Philipsburg will be at your expense.

Double Divide Ride — Enjoy two days of cycling 139 miles (83 miles the first day, 56 miles the second) through rolling hills, tranquil valleys and challenging mountain passes. The DDR is famous for its outstanding food fare.

Park-2-Park Montana – Park-2-Park Montana is a multi-day bicycle ride in support of CASA of Montana. The route will take cyclists from St. Mary – on the eastern side of Glacier National Park – down along US 89 through Dupuyer, Choteau, Great Falls, White Sulphur Springs and Livingston and conclude at Gardiner near Yellowstone National Park. The route is approximately 385 miles, with daily ride distances of 55-100 miles. Details at www.casagal.org.

Yellowstone Park Rides – Yellowstone National Park is closed to motorized vehicles in April, but open to bicycles. See http://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/springbike.htm HBC members are invited to join the Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club for a one-day ride from West Yellowstone to Old Faithful and back on April 12th.  Meet at the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce. Ride length is 25-40 miles.

Women’s Bicycle Racing 101 Clinic — MBRA-Sponsored Road Clinic for Women. The first day focuses on skills with the morning spent in the classroom and the afternoon riding. The second day will be the first MRBA race of the women's Cat 4 only series.  Cost is $100 for both days.

Annual Little Red Riding Hood — Spend the day riding through beautiful Cache Valley in Northern Utah. A women-only ride sponsored by the  Bonneville Bicycle Touring Club. There are 35, 45, 62, 80 and 104-mile options. The ride benefits breast cancer research.

Governor’s Cup Mountain Bike Ride – This 10.5 mile bike ride goes up Grizzly Gulch and down Oro Fino Gulch. This is the second annual bike ride and follows the Saturday runs. Riders will start in waves at 8, 8:30, 9 and 9:30 am from the old Federal Building on Park Ave. Registration is $16.

RATPOD – a one-day, 130-mile bicycle ride that benefits Camp Mak-A-Dream. The ride begins in Dillon and makes a loop through the Pioneer Mountains and back to Dillon.
