Park-2-Park
Montana
September 1-5, 2008
Park-2-Park Montana is a multi-day bicycle ride in support of CASA of Montana.
The ride is planned for Sept 1-5, 2008. The route will take cyclists from St. Mary – on the eastern side of Glacier National Park – down along US 89 through Dupuyer, Choteau,
Great Falls, White Sulphur Springs and Livingston and conclude at Gardiner near Yellowstone National Park.
The route is approximately 400 miles, with daily ride distances of 55-100 miles. The ride begins at the KOA campground in St. Mary. Overnight stops are planned in Dupuyer,
Great Falls, White Sulphur Springs, Livingston and an optional stay at Gardiner.
Riders will gather at St. Mary KOA on Sunday, Aug. 31. A pre-ride training session will be held in the afternoon and a rider meeting is scheduled for Sunday night.
The ride will kick off early Monday. This is a basic supported ride and we will have a U-haul to carry equipment and food, as well as a sag wagon in case of problems.
Riders may ride all or part of each day’s route, but we encourage riders to train for riding the entire route.
Cost of the ride is $450 if registered before Aug. 1. Cost after Aug. 1 is $500. Registration includes meals, four nights lodging
(at least two motels but some nights may be in churches or community halls), support vehicles, some snacks, etc.
Riders will pay for their own lodging on Sunday, Aug. 31 and Friday, Sept. 5. Special rates will be available.
Other snacks, meals and transportation to the start and home from the finish are the responsibility of the rider.
Since this is a fund-raiser for CASA of Montana, riders are encouraged to raise at least $200 support above the $450.
Any rider contributing a total of $800 above their registration will receive a special ride jersey. Our goal for this year is to raise $40,000 for CASA of Montana to help abused and neglected children.
The ride will be limited to 50 riders. Registration forms and more details will be available in March on the CASA of Montana website at
www.casagal.org
We have support from the Helena Bicycle Club and other groups, but you can still help.
