HBC Member Picnic

PLACE - Lewis & Clark Fairgrounds.
Please join the Helena Bicycle Club for our annual picnic. The club will supply chicken, drinks, plates and utensils. Please bring a salad, dessert or side dish to share. For anyone interested, there will be a road ride in the valley after the picnic.

Welcome to the Helena Bicycle Club
Welcome to the Helena Bicycle Club web site. The members of the Helena Bicycle Club are enthusiastic about bicycling whether it be as a mountain biker, commuter, road bicyclist, bicycle advocate, or bicycle racer. The Helena Bicycle Club is always ready to support riders of all types. The club's motto is:
"No one is ever left behind!"
The club meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month from January through October. Watch this page for meeting topics and locations.
The club's focus is on recreation and fitness. Come join us on one of the club rides. We're sure you'll find a ride to your liking. Some of the rides/events we offer include:
- One Helena Hundred - our annual 100-mile or 100-kilometer ride in July
- Double Divide Ride - our annual two-day, road bike ride over two mountain passes. Now in June
- Evening Rides during the week - Monday Night Mountain Bike Rides as well as Tuesday and Thursday Night Road Rides
- Weekend mountain bike and road bike rides
- Monthly Program/Business Meeting (except November and December)
- Park-2-Park Montana - a multi-day bicycle ride in support of CASA of Montana.

Upcoming HBC Events
10 Weeks To A Century
Helena Bicycle Club has a special program to help novice and intermediate cyclists prepare to ride a century. A standard century is 100 miles and a metric century is 100 kilometers (62 miles). Each takes some focuses preparation and plenty of ride time.
Experienced coaches with dozens of century rides under their jerseys will help you and a other avid novices in preparing for your first century.
This training program provides ample group rides from May 2 through mid-July to help you get ready to ride the One Helena Hundred on July 18.

Double Divide Ride
Cross the Continental Divide -Twice - June 13-14, 2009
The annual Helena Bicycle Club Double Divide Ride (DDR) is scheduled for June again in 2009. Get an early start on the biking season with the Helena Bicycle Club Double Divide Ride, June 13-14, 2009. We will follow the same great route crossing the Continental Divide twice.
Enjoy two days of cycling 139 miles (83 miles the first day, 56 miles the second) through rolling hills, tranquil valleys and challenging mountain passes. Plus, the DDR is famous for its outstanding food fare – you won’t go hungry!
One Helena Hundred
The annual celebration of cycling for the Helena Bicycle Club will be Saturday, July 18, 2009. Starting from Cascade City Park
The One Helena Hundred is a 100-mile or 100 kilometer Century Ride along the beautiful Missouri River. This year our route will begin in Cascade MT at Cascade City Park just 1 block off of Main Street.
Riders will travel south to the Wolf Creek, MT, turning around just before dropping into Wolf Creek returning to Cascade for a hardy lunch. This will complete the Metric Century. The Mile Century Riders will continue north from Cascade to Ulm, then east over the Smith River with a turn around back to Cascade.
The route is gentle with some small rolling hills. Lunch is provided in Cascade as well as 3 nutritious rest stops !
